When I say I want to travel I mean I want to explore another country and become part of it. I’ll go anywhere as long as there are friendly faces and wild places. I want to meet people who are not like me, but people who I like all the same, I want to take pictures of things and places and people, I want my mind to be in constant awe of life on earth. I want to see the world with new eyes, I want to be transformed by the things I’ve seen and by the people I’ve met and dive into their cultures and learn their way of life. And when I come home I want to realize that I haven’t come home whole, but have left a piece of my heart in each place that I’ve been.

And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in and fall in love once more

Traveling has been a massive part of my life, ever since I can remeber. When I was little my parents took me and my brother on amazing adventures all over the world. I always had this urge inside me to see more and more, to add stamps to my passport and count the countries I’ve been to. When I finished high school the world was calling for me and after a holiday in the US I decided it is time for me to move to Australia. This one year turned into almost 9 years abroad, living and working in Australia, Canada, Japan and Europe, my job has allowed me not just to visit other countries, but to become a part of them, fully experience their culture while living with locals.

There’s so much to see and I want to see and experience it all, and while the world around me tried to tell me to do something more normal with my life, like living in an ordinary way and staying in one spot, I decided not to listen. I followed my passion of food and adventure, and I love that my life hasn’t been ordinary, I love that I have a million stories to tell.

And it is true, bad ideas make the best memories. And the right people make your life so much better. Home is not a place.

I’ll go anywhere as long as there are friendly faces and wild places. I want to meet people who are not like me, but people who I like all the same, I want to eat strange food, I want to take pictures of things and places and people, I want my mind to be in constant awe of life on earth. I want to see the world with new eyes every day, I want to be transformed by the things I’ve seen and by the people I’ve met and dive into their cultures and learn their way of life. And when I come home I want to realize that I haven’t come home whole, but have left a piece of my heart in each place that I’ve been.

2011

After a trip to the US I left Germany for a working holiday year in Australia. The idea was to backpack around the whole country for 6 months only, work odd jobs and find the most beautiful places. And then head home again. The first 6 months I spent traveling along the east coast of Australia and I got hooked. I changed my flight so that i could stay the full year and use up my visa until the last day. I ended up traveling the whole coastal loop of Australia, over 25.000km, camping almost the whole time.

2012

I decided to stay in Australia for another year, living most of the time in Victoria and Queensland, taking smaller trips backpacking to New Zealand, Malaysia and Thailand, backpacking all the way north to Chiang Mai and back south to Phuket, learning a lot about Asian food and culture.

2013

After a few months back in Germany I felt like this is not where I belong, so I made my way back to Australia. My current partner and I decided to move to Queensland for the rest of the year.

2014 - 2015

Setting off to live in Canada to gain more International work experience. After turning an old Ford Explorer into an adventure–mobile we made our way to the Canadian Rockies for work and to enjoy the snowfields. We spent summer in Tofino, Vancouver Island, at the pacific ocean trying to learn how to surf. During our time in Canada we went on multiple road trips to the US. Our biggest road trip, driving from Vancouver along the east coast to San Diego, and all the way back up north driving inland stopping at every national park there is, one more stunning than the other..

2015 - 2016

The adventure was far from over, but what place could possibly top Canada? - Japan was the next destination. I always wanted to live in an asian country and Japan was perfect, I could connect my passion for snowboarding with my passion for food, living in Niseko, a small quite touristy area in Hokkaido, working in an amazing Japanese fine dining restaurant learning lots about traditional food. At the end of the stay in Japan we decided to travel Vietnam by motorbike with a small group of friends, driving from Hanoi all the way to Saigon, what an adventure. Returning to Australia I ended up working at Black Cockatoo restaurant, a fine dining restaurant with beautiful Australasian fusion food.

2017

Was the year I worked my first job as patissiere in a Michelin starred restaurant in the beautiful German alps. It was great to spend some time back at home, visiting friends and family. Even tho Europe didnt feel like a big adventure it was nice to be back in the snow, but i was itching the next adventure so I defided to solo travel northern India for the first time, I definitely have to come back for another holiday at some point in the future.

2018

It is time to settle in one spot for a while so I moved to beautiful Sunshine Beach, working in a one hat restaurant in Noosa, enjoying everyday life and the beautiful beaches and surrounding areas. This country is going to be my home.

2019

Getting itchy feet again, Maybe it is time for one last big adventure! Spending almost 6 months in Asia, traveling across Indonesia, Lao, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand mainly by motorbike and ferry, climbing to the top of multiple volcanos, wandering off the beaten path. At the end of this this adventure it was time to go back to Europe to visit the family before finally moving back home, which I found in Australia… and then COVID happened.

2019 - 2020

Due to covid and a few other factors I ended up staying in good old Germany longer than I planned, but the good thing coming out of it all is I finally followed my passion for photography and content creation. I also got to catch u with friends and family and ended up sailing the coast of croatia with 10 friends.

2021

Finally moving back to Australia during a pandemic. It was hectic, scoring a spot on a flight, having 10 days to pack up and say goodbye to everyone, making my way to Howard Spings Quarantine Facility. Once I regained my freedom in Australia I moved to Albany WA, probaby the most beautiful place I’ve ever live at, and for sure the most rainy place in Australia.
